A step-by-step how to for getting Webroot connected to Gradient.

Requirements

In this article we will walk you through how to get the following authentication items:

  • API URL: https://unityapi.webrootcloudav.com

  • Username: Webroot login credentials

  • Password: Webroot login credentials
  • Client ID

  • Client Secret
  • Parent Key Code

How to Generate API Keys from Webroot

  1. First inside of the Gradient tool, go to Integrations on the left column, search for Webroot, and press Connect.
  2. Leave this screen open in a tab.
  3. Open the Webroot portal and sign in with your admin account.
  4. Go to Settings, Account information, and under Parent Keycode copy paste this into the Gradient Webroot integration screen under "Parent Key Code".
  5. Go to the Admins page on the left column, then select the user you want to use for the API access. Typically this is an existing admin, or you can create a new user called gradientapi. if you choose to create a new user, be sure they are a Super Admin

    2. Whether you are creating a new user, or modifying an existing users permissions, be sure that under the Site Permissions they have Admin access to all of your customers. Once selected, press save.
  6.  Go to Settings on the left side bar, and select Unity API Access on the top bar. Then select the New button.
  7. In the popup name it 'Gradient API' and for a description, type 'Gradient API Access' then click Next.
  8. Select No for event notifications and press Next. On the next screen, hit save.
  9. Keep the screen open in a tab, then go back to Gradient.
  10. Copy the information from this screen into the Gradient API Authentication popup like so. You will also need to copy/paste the username and password for the account you are using.
    1. The API URL will be https://unityapi.webrootcloudav.com.
    2. The Parent Key Code will be filled from the first step we did.
    3. The User Name and Password will be the account you want to use, or the new one we created.
    4. The Client ID and Client Secret will be copied from the window in Step 9.
  11. Once all of the information is entered press Authenticate.
  12. Once the API Status shows Ready to Continue, press next to begin mapping your clients and products as usual.

Your Webroot integration is ready to use, and you can start reconciling your clients usage into your PSA.


Explanation of Usage

Report Types:

  • Webroot DNS Protection:
    • Report Type: DevicesSeen
    • Data: Provides DNS Protection (DNSP) statistics for all devices as of the effective report date (yesterday).
  • Webroot Security Awareness Training (WSAT):
    • Report Type: UsersSeen
    • Data: Provides WSAT statistics for all users as of the effective report date (yesterday).
  • Webroot Endpoint Protection:
    • Report Type: ActiveEndpointsWithoutHidden
    • Data: Includes active devices on the effective report date, excluding hidden devices.
      Note: This count reflects the "Active Devices" total seen in the Webroot console under Sites, which filters out hidden devices. If hidden devices exist, this total will be lower than the "ActiveEndpoints" count.
